  • Monday, November 26 – Join Virginia Beach Democrats for a Pizza Party hosted by candidates Bobby Mathieson, Joe Bouchard and Bob MacIver as a thank you for campaign volunteers. Shorebreak Pizza Cafe, 2941 Shore Drive (Near West Great Neck Road), 6pm.
  • Wednesday, November 28 – A free film and discussion on bioethics will take place from 7:15 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday at Naro Expanded Cinema, at 1507 Colley Ave. in Norfolk. A Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters bioethics committee will host the movie “John Q,” a film about a father who takes people hostage at a Chicago emergency room when medical insurers will not pay for his son’s heart transplant. After the film, Dr. Ralph Northam, a pediatric neurologist, and Dr. Albert Finch, executive medical director at CHKD, will lead a discussion on ethical issues.   • Wednesday, December 5 – Join Norfolk Democrats for the annual legislative sendoff. Metropolitan, 7246 Granby Street, 6:30pm.
  • Ongoing – the Phil Forgit campaign needs volunteers. The campaign is canvassing every Saturday and doing phonebanking daily. Contact information can be found on the events page of the new Forgit website.
