The Thanksgiving weekend is a football lover’s paradise, with a mix of pro and college games. I managed to catch a bit of the three pro games Thursday, a bit of the UVA/VA Tech game Saturday, and pieces of a number of pro games Sunday. I’ve never watched much college football, but I can honestly say that the level of play in those games seems to be above that of the pros. Maybe the pro players are making too much money and are afraid to get hurt. In any event, I think next season, I’ll pick a college team and watch.
The Redskins – what can I say? The team fell apart – again. I’m no fair weather Redskins fan, but jeeze – ya think they could string together a win or two? At 5-6, I guess I need a new team to watch in the playoffs, because the Redskins aren’t going to be there.
The only other game I watched in its entirety was the Eagles/Patriots game last night. Now that was a game! Even though the Eagles didn’t win, it showed that the Patriots are not the team that the talking heads on the pre-game shows think they are. (Remember, the Patriots creamed the Redskins, 52-7. However, the Redskins beat the Eagles earlier this year 20-12.) The Eagles had a great game plan, which, no doubt, other teams will adopt. Given that, I don’t expect the Patriots will go undefeated. Either the Steelers or the Giants – or both – could beat them.
(Of course, if the Giants play against the Patriots the way they played against Minnesota yesterday, that win won’t happen.)

Keep him in your prayers.
You could say “time for Gibbs to go back to auto racing” or did he ever leave it? http://www.joegibbsracing.com/ …
for me the NFL game of the weekend was the Chicago Bears 37 v. Denver Broncos 34 in OT … what a game to watch … on the college side the game was Arkansas in its 50-48 triple-overtime upset of LSU
Man, the Eagles could have had that game, though. That last Patriots touchdown in the first half should have been reviewed and really could have given the Eagles a boost in the locker room and leading into the second half. They kept it tight just the same but, man, what a goof. Great game, tho.
No comment on the ‘Skins. Just… *sigh*
AEM – Wow. I hadn’t heard that. Yes, we do need to keep him in our prayers.
Shawn – I caught the end of the Bears/Broncos game. It was a good one.
Jason – the interceptions killed them, though. Feeley was doing a good job, but 3 INTs is too much to overcome. Kinda like the TOs the ‘Skins had 😦
Notice how the Detroit “liedowns” are reverting back to the norm, that is, lying down!
The good news was they extended the NFL season for long suffering Lions fans into mid-November instead of mid-September this year!!!!!!!
