Polls are open from 6am to 7pm today for the 1st Congressional District special election. To find your polling place, click here.
Let me remind you a bit about why you should vote for Philip Forgit. Check out The Daily Press endorsement:
Forgit seems genuinely thoughtful, wrestling with issues, sorting out the nuances. So he seems less packaged and more pragmatic, tending toward the middle. That’s to be expected of a Democrat in a GOP-leaning district, but it also means his positions appeal to people looking for solutions, not blame.
Recall Mark Warner’s words from Monday’s rally:
This race is going to shock not only the conventional political wisdom in VA but across the country. Because Philip Forgit brings the right agenda and the right background to face two of our most critical problems: America’s standing in the world and how we remain competitive in the global marketplace.
And today there is this gem from Norman Leahy:
Many of my friends on the GOP side of the aisle are stumping for Rob Wittman in today’s special election in the 1st congressional district. I can appreciate their position, but if I had a vote, Wittman surely would not get it.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the message 😉 Go out and vote. Tell your friends, family members and co-workers to do the same. This election is about getting out the vote, so every one is critical.
By the way ~ I understand that we won’t get results until late tonight, due to the use of paper ballots in some areas. Expect the results to start rolling in around 8pm or so.
