Kansas beat Virginia Tech last night in the Orange Bowl 24-21, so Governor Tim Kaine will have to make good on his friendly wager with Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius by sending her a Virginia ham. Turnovers killed the fifth-ranked Hokies – and the two-quarterback system didn’t help. The eighth-ranked Jayhawks took advantage, despite heroic efforts on the part of the Hokies.
So Kaine won’t be eating that assortment of Kansas beef. I hope he sends her a Smithfield ham – one of the real salty ones 😉
UPDATE 1/7: Kaine has fulfilled his obligation.
The problem is the same as when the Hokies played in the Championship Game — they came back by running the football, and then went back to the pass to lose the game.
The playcalling was horrendous.
That wuz sum right fine QB’n by the Hokies last night. No tractor parade in Bleaksburg, I guess.
