According to PilotOnline, the obscenity charge against the manager of the Lynnhaven Mall Abercrombie & Fitch store will be dropped.
[Deputy City Attorney Mark] Stiles said Monday afternoon that the city concluded that, the photos might technically meet the nudity portion of the City Code that makes it a crime to display “obscene materials in a business that is open to juveniles.” But they thought it would be difficult to meet the other standards of the law, which say the display needed to appeal to prurient interests, have no redeeming artistic merit and be offensive to the prevailing standards in the community.
Stiles said, of the photo with the men “You might see that typical vision walking down a street.”
Um, yeah. That sounds about right.
I’d love to get the actual story behind the original seizure. A good five minutes of entertainment, to be sure.
Good, it was a case of over sensitive parents and overzealous cops.
It was a case of Virginia Beach making an ass out of themselves nationally.
Gee, only in Virginia Beach can a police officer make much ado about nothing… issue
an arrest warrent…. make the city a target to international ridicule… later the have the charge dropped… and waste taxpayer time and dollars all at the same time! Only in Virginia Beach!
