American Idol opened with the comment that like last night, next week’s show will feature the Lennon/McCartney Song Book. Well, I guess I’ll be bored again. Have to admit I’m not a fan of this particular genre. Plus, with few exceptions, the performers last night had a hard time with the music. Most of them turned in subpar performances in my book. Oh well.
Three people were in the bottom three tonight. They were called out in groups of four. In the first group were Carly, Michael, Jason and Syesha. Carly ain’t going nowhere for a while 😉 Michael I find only moderately talented. I like Jason’s hair more than his singing. I guess the voters thought the same thing, since it was Syesha who was named to the bottom three.
The next group of four were Chikezie, Amanda, David Cook and Kristy. Again, it was pretty easy to figure out that Kristy was the one in the bottom three. The judges really dogged her last night, after encouraging her to be more country. Besides, while I didn’t particularly care for Chikezie’s or David’s performances, the judges loved them. Amanda did a great job last night and didn’t need the help of VFW.
The remaining group included wonderkid David Archuleta, who fell off his white horse last night. Unlike my bud Squeaky, I recognize that the kid is only 17 and that he had a bad case of the nerves. Also in the group SW’s new “fave” Brook, David Hernandez and Ramiele. I don’t know why the judges gave my girl Ramiele such a hard time last night. When others sand their songs straight like she did, they didn’t call them “boring.” Ramiele has the purest, sweetest voice of all of the contestants. No “pitchy” stuff here. And thankfully, she wasn’t in the bottom three and gets another chance to show her stuff. David Hernandez was the third member of the bottom three.
So the bottom three: Syesha, Kristy and David Hernandez. I have to admit that I was surprised that David Hernandez was voted off. I thought it would be Kristy. But then again, when you think of the various styles of the singers, Kristy is the only country singer left. Hernandez was competing with the other crooners for the same votes. And he was the odd man out. Too bad.
Mistake, Kristy should’ve gone home.
Denngg.. Kristy Lee should’ve been voted off a long long time ago
Based upon talent alone, I think Kristy Lee was the one that should have gone home but I think she gained a lot of votes from 1)boys who think she’s cute and 2)people who simply want to have some country involved.
