Perusing the Virginian Pilot this morning, I ran across an article about the Elizabeth City, NC council:
The council has been one member short since Darryl Stallings was disqualified for living outside the 3rd Ward.
Councilman Kirk Rivers faced a similar charge, and last month it was determined that he lives outside the city.
Next week, Councilman Rickey King is scheduled to appear in Chesapeake Circuit Court to face five felony charges.
Wow. And we think we’ve got problems! (Interestingly enough, the online version of this article does not include these little tidbits.)

Virginia Beach has/had crooks on Council; they just haven’t been indicted yet.
The Elizabeth City City Council is truly something to marvel at. However, I should add that Mr. Kirk Rivers was reinstated by the Superior Court after his removal was found to have been improper by two different judges.
