I’ve got a full day today with the funeral. More to come.

Hanging out with 1,500+ Clinton supporters yesterday certainly was the spirit boost I – and probably all of us – needed. What was even more awesome was the opportunity to meet and chat briefly with Senator Clinton. And yes, she wished me a happy birthday 😉

Yesterday’s event raised over $1 million for Senator Clinton. Way to go women!

I’m disappointed, but not surprised, at the defection of Del. Jennifer McClellan. Welcome aboard, Congressman Heath Shuler!

I haven’t watched the AI results show but I am stunned that Jason was voted off. Not that he didn’t deserve it, mind you, but I just didn’t think that it was going to happen.

The surprise in the local elections battles was the near-defeat of Portsmouth mayor James Holley. Have to agree with the challenger Martha Ann Creecy and Councilman Steve Heretick on this one: expect a crowded field in 4 years.
Vivian,
I was happy to see you at the Mark Warner kickoff in norfolk. glad to see you had a nice event with Senator Clinton. 1 million not bad for a days work. I will not comment on you being disappointed with Jennifer switching her vote however the results were pretty overwhelming on Tuesday night. You are a very intelligent woman who knows the end game is in sight. Real soon we will be coming together to fight against McCain. The healing will start within 2 weeks. In fact it already has because the harshness has ended on the campaign trail. See you again soon.
Jennifer and I exchanged messages yesterday. This was EXTREMELY hard for her and a very difficult decision.
I have known her for 15 years and she does not make decisions lightly. She still very much admires Senator Clinton and this is not a slight against her. She said it was simply the math.
Jennifer should be commmended on her hard work on HRC’s behalf as well. She gave an excellent intro @ the JJ and did everything she could to help her in VA.
I’m looking forward to everyone coming together as Gene said. I’m looking forward to a Democrat in the White House, Mark Warner in the Senate, and Glenn Nye as my new Congressman.
Psst…Vivian, we’d love to see a live blog with either Warner or Nye 🙂
Also- did you get pictures from the Clinton event? If so, many of us would love to see them.
Sounds like a great evening,
And a Happy Birthday to you. What are ye now, lass, 29? 🙂
I know it was a tough decision for Jennifer. That I am disappointed is no reflection on her. As a Clinton supporter, of course I’m disappointed.
Pics coming soon from the event.
And thanks for the birthday wishes. Yes, 29 is the ticket 😉
It’s a day late, but Happy birthday Vivian.
The most important thing to remember is that we need a Democrat in the White House. Our future economy is at risk if we don’t elect a Democrat and we need to join together to make sure it happens.
Congress passes the budget. Yes, the President sends a budget to Congress, but then Congress ignores it.
I really see no intelligent reason for considering anything George Bush sends to Congress. Some people to learn from experience. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
Congress ignores ALL budgets sent by EVERY president. Read the Constitution — the President does not send bills to Congress for signature or veto, Congress sends bills to the President.
