Update on Andrea Miller’s campaign

There hasn’t been much information coming out of the campaign of Andrea Miller, the Democratic candidate in the 4th CD, who is looking to unseat Randy Forbes. The last I heard, the campaign had lost its campaign manager and finance director. The campaign has a new manager, Penny Jordan. With her permission, here’s an email I received:

Since July 20, 2008, I have served as Andrea’s campaign manager.  I am also her friend. I first met Andrea a couple of years ago at a Moveon.org meeting.  I was impressed with her and her passion for politics.  She and I quickly became friends and we have worked together on many occasions, promoting our beliefs on issues such a Single Payer Healthcare, creating a clean environment, ending the war in Iraq and much more.

Andrea has hired TruBlu Politics as consultants to her campaign.  TruBlu has been working with Andrea’s campaign since April of this year.  The partners of TruBlu Politics have worked on numerous campaigns for Democratic candidates and progressive organizations including work for the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Emily’s List and the NAACP-National Voter Fund.

Andrea’s campaign has not been hindered by the departure of her original campaign manager and finance director.  We have not slowed down once since they left.  We have been working with the Virginia Democratic coordinated campaign, Victory 08, who canvasses and makes phone calls for Obama, Warner and Miller.  Andrea and I personally canvass and make phone calls on a regular basis.  Andrea has attended area fairs and festivals throughout of the district and will continue to do so throughout the rest of the election period.  Andrea has been a part of several radio shows, locally and nationally.  She has at least three more radio events scheduled and has one appearance scheduled on a local TV station.  Andrea will also be part of many house parties and Meet and Greets.  Additionally, we are working on getting several important endorsements.

Fundraising is still slow going but we are still raising money and have some promising leads.  We are continually looking at ways to raise more money, so that we can reach all the voters of the district.

Best of all, Andrea and I are both having a lot of fun.  We love meeting the people in the 4^th district and explaining to them what Andrea can do to make their lives better.
