I missed the move from 11:30am to noon last Sunday for On The Record as I was traveling to Denver. I did wonder, however, what they were going to sandwich in between The Chris Matthews Show and OTR. Well, today I found out. On right now is a football show, called Panthers Huddle. I’m a pretty big football fan, but seriously: how does the WVEC management justify sticking a football show between political shows?
With OTR on right after Matthews, it was a seamless transition from national politics to local politics. No doubt some of the folks who only follow national politics hung around for the local stuff. And that’s a good thing, and not just for the ratings of OTR. I really wish they would move it back.
In any event, today’s show, which airs momentarily, will feature a conversation with former governor Mark Warner and two local delegates to the Republican Convention. If you miss the airing, it will be available on the website on Monday.
I watch This Week from 10-11
Tivo Face the Nation at 10:30
Then watch it from 11:30 to noon then on to Joel…
Thank goodness for DVRs. I finally saw Tim Kaine’s Tuesday night appearance on The Daily Show when I got home. On The Record is on the recording list every week in case I miss it.
I can see the ratings issue, though. I wonder whether companies like Nielsen have access to cable system data on recording requests. (They must be able to detect them.)
