Nye receives endorsement of former Bush appointee

According to The Hill’s Blog Briefing, 2nd Congressional District Democratic candidate Glenn Nye has received the endorsement of retired Admiral David Stone.

President Bush nominated Stone as for the assistant secretary for the Department of Homeland Security position where he was in charge of the entire Transportation Security Administration.

The endorsement came on Tuesday.

Wednesday evening, Nye and Republican incumbent Thelma Drake were scheduled to be present at a “conversation” hosted by the League of Women Voters. According to PilotOnline, Drake had a family emergency, which resulted in her being out of town.  The two are scheduled to tape Joel Rubin’s On The Record this Friday morning. No word on whether Drake will be back in town in time for the taping.
