Perusing the Virginia Political Blogs aggregator, I ran across a post entitled “The Contenders,” supposedly a run down of the statewide candidates for 2009. I was curious as to the source of the post so I clicked on it. Seem nvadaily.com has a blog, called “A View from the Cheap Seats.” What caught my eye was that there was at least one candidate missing: John Fishwick, who has announced his intention to run for Attorney General.
I was going to leave a message and let the writer know of his omission but to do so required me to register for the site. Not happening. I’ve got enough registrations to keep straight right now. So I looked for the writer’s email. Again, not there. Hmm – you’d think the MSM would figure out the internets and know that there has to be a way for readers to contact them. But then again, you’d think the MSM would be a wee bit better at fact checking before printing something that includes as a candidate a guy who announced Monday but leaves out a guy who announced almost two weeks ago.
Perhaps that view is a bit obscured.
Completely with you on the Registration!=participation part. Most VA political blogs would do well to take that lesson, too.
At the very least, use Open ID. That way, I don’t have to register again.
