Fliergate: A closer look (part 4)

Three more issues in this segment.

Let’s start with the fliers. First the one handed out to black voters.

I also got my hands on the flier handed out to white voters.

The most interesting thing about these fliers is that they are exactly the same size and are printed on identical paper. I understand that the printer has admitted to printing BOTH sets of fliers. (Supposedly, there was a third flier. I have not been able to track that one down.)

And I guess the “private donor” mentioned in the initial story about this paid for both of them, since the latest financial report doesn’t reflect a payment to a printer, despite the disclosure line. Is that another $100 violation?

Which brings me to the second issue. Funny but I don’t see any payments to the poll workers. And we know they worked and were paid. Is that another $100 violation?

The last issue gets back to the votes, in this case, the absentee votes. It is worth noting that Meyera Oberndorf received 10,584 absentee votes while Will Sessoms received only 7,391. By comparison, Obama received 14,907 to McCain’s 10,986 and Georgia Allen received 6,418 to Rosemary Wilson’s 8,292. As was true in almost 75% of the city, Sessoms ran behind Wilson.
