With tonight’s results show, six of the Final 12 contestants have been chosen. Last night, we saw some good performances and some not so good performances. Of course, with the public voting, there is always an air of unpredictability.
The first finalist named tonight was the one who I thought performed the best: 16 year old Allison Iraheta. I actually think she could go all the way.
And unpredictability best describes the choice of Kris Allen. Don’t get me wrong – I like him. But when paired with Megan Joy Corkrey, I was surprised that he was the winner. Maybe the voters just didn’t get Megan. Perhaps she will get another chance in the wild card round.
The last spot came down to Nick/Normound and Adam Lambert. I’ll bet the VFTW folks were having a conniption with their choice getting this close. But it was Adam Lambert who was chosen.
So we have six so far. Next week, the final group of 12 and the choosing of three more finalists.
