By now, you have probably heard about Susan Boyle, whose performance on Britain’s Got Talent has everyone talking. In case you haven’t seen it, head over to YouTube and check it out.
Take that, Simon 😉

She is really good, but this whole media frenzy really disturbs me. It’s like, and I’m paraphrasing from another comment I read on a sociology blog, ‘we were happy to laugh at you because you were ugly and we thought you would suck… but now that you’re pretty good, we’re going to make a big deal about how tolerant we are and are happy to give you a chance to compete because we don’t see attractiveness, we see talent, nevermind the fact that part of the reason your talent is such a big deal is because we had such low expectations due to your level of conventional attractiveness. See, it would have been funny if you were ugly and untalented, but now that you’ve got one thing going for you, in our minds, it’s not funny!’
I like her; I dislike everyone else. (except you, Vivian. 🙂 )

Fizzle out.
I’m glad the lady got her day in the lime light, but I hope she doesn’t think it’s going to last long. I don’t think she does. In the meantime I hope she makes a lot of money.
“She has the voice of an angel? Well, folks, how does anybody know how an angel sounds?
