The theme of Tuesday night’s show was disco, although little real disco was on display. In fact, I suspect the two people whose performances were closest to disco – Lil and Matt – are going home Wednesday.
Despite her having lost her voice, I dont think that was Lil’s problem last night. I think her problem is she has lost her confidence in her own ability. Some weeks, she has tried to be original – and the judges didn’t like it. Last night, she tried to be R&B – and the judges didn’t like it. It seems every season, the judges do this to someone, perhaps to try to get them off their game. That most of them end up cracking under the pressure should be no surprise. After all, these are, for the most part, amateurs.
The best performance last night was Allison. I won’t be surprised, though, if she ends up in the bottom three. The little rocker gal with the big voice strutted her stuff last night but the judges didn’t think too much of it.
Of course they swooned – again – over Adam. I’m still not getting this guy. I thought that was one of the most overwrought performances I’d seen in a while. He belongs on stage – just not on this stage.
Danny and Anoop both turned in forgettable performances. I like these guys voices, but their choices of songs to sing are questionable.
As for Kris – I disagree with the judges on him, too. His voice is average, at best. And not every song is appropriate for being sung unplugged, which is what he went for last night.
This is, after all, a singing competition, not an originality competition.

Okay, got to vent on this one, Allison sings “hot stuff” she slows it down, and tries to “make it her own”, does great but the judges didn’t like her slowing it down. Meanwhile, Adam takes a disco song and totally puts the breaks on it so he can do is cat howls on the high notes and the judges Love it, call him a genius and Paula is about in tears! They have all but handed Adam the crown…….tired of these judges voting folks on different levels!
Yeah, it does take a bit of fun out of watching, doesn’t it?
Allison is great! Does what she wants to do and seems to have fun doing it. Adam is a snake, IMO. I’m surprised that Danny is still around. The comments abt Lil sounded as if they had been agreed on beforehand.
the competition is getting super tough at this point in the season; i hope Danny turns it up a notch, i’m still pulling for him

I don’t like Adam because, instead of using his tremendous instrument of a voice, he likes to scream. It has nothing to do with him being gay.
