  1. It was interesting to see that Creigh Deeds in a recent poll did better against McDonnell than either McAuliffe or Moran did.

I just have to think a lot of people that usually vote Republican but, don’t like McDonnell, would actually vote for Creigh Deeds if given the chance.

    1. I know! The one gun a month and now all these big government ideas he’s running on… It’s enough to make a libertarian stay home. =)

  2. Or vote for Deeds. And vote GOP on the rest of the ticket.

    Just think:

1 vote that usually goes GOP, staying home translates to -1. It becomes negative 2 if you actually switch sides and vote for Deeds.

In the case of McAuliffe the carpet bagger buying the election, not only will McDonnell dismiss him on so many levels, but there might be fewer people staying home.

“Terry, while I was in Virginia as Attorney General, where were you? When I was a delegate from Virginia Beach, which state were you in?” Then McDonnell mentions the the DNC and Clinton connections.

Clinton won’t hurt among Democrats but, it will energize a RPV core. It will rally a splintered base around facing a common high profile political enemy.

  3. I voted for Deeds in the last election, and I will vote for him in the primary. However, he does not come off well on-stage, and I think he will have problems in a debate with McDonnell.

OTOH, the audience for gubernatorial debates is rather small, so that may not be a big negative for him.

  4. For the record, last time I didn’t vote for Deeds. I held my nose and voted for Bob McDonnell.

After, McDonnell championing HRTA while being FROM VA.BEACH,his thinking he should be able to outlaw oral sex between consenting adults(even married couples behind close doors), his 2nd amendment record, his leading the charge in removing his own party chairman, and his support of watered down eminent domain reform(thank goodness that failed and we got real reform the next year), I really regret that vote. I came close to voting for Deeds that time. I hope I get another chance. It was only after hearing Deeds defend Warner’s tax increase that I reversed and voted (unfortunately) for Bob McDonnell.

I know a lot of you think Creigh Deeds is a little too conservative and you want the far left dream ticket. I gotta tell you, Deeds is the ONLY one of the three that I could vote for.

Mouse, I don’t think Deeds has a lot of charisma either, but I did like his response in telling the crowd WHY he is best suited to beat McDonnell. I also appreciated the fact that he let the children fight it out before he stepped forward with that direct statement that he is best suited to defeat McDonnell.

    1. I am certainly not one to vote for charisma over policy and experience. Unfortunately, many others do vote for charisma. That can work against Deeds in both the primary and in the general election.

      1. The problem I see with Deeds in this campaign is that he tries too hard. If he would stick to just some key talking points, he would do fine. But as it is, he tries to fit too many ideas in the span of a couple of minutes. Slow down Deeds! This is where a drawl would help.
