American Idol Results 04/29/09: elimination

American Idol LogoI was a bit busy watching the debate so I missed the airing of AI. Of course, I have TiVO so all’s good 😉 Besides, I got to fast-forward thru the commercials and any dumb parts of the show (like the food fight).

Like last season, the remaining five were split into two groups with one person being left to choose which group to belong to. That person was Adam. One side of the stage had Matt and Kris, the two I chose to be in the bottom. On the other, Allison and Danny. Adam chose to join Allison and Danny. As it turned out, Adam was in the bottom three – along with Matt and Kris. Surprised looks all around, since no one expected him to be in the bottom.

Before we went any further, Natalie Cole performed. I’ve never been a fan, even less so after sharing a stage with her about 30 years ago.  Thank goodness for the fast forward button 😉

Taylor Hicks also performed. I enjoyed him when he was a contestant but.. ah well, fast forward.

Safe was Kris. I think everyone expected it was going to be Adam.

(Can’t get away from politics. I saw T-Mac’s boat ad as I scrolled past the commercials.)

Jaime Foxx performed next. (Really – do we need three performances on these show? Can’t we got back to half hour results shows?)

After the break, it was Matt Girard who was voted off. The judges used their save a couple of weeks ago to keep him on the show. I have to wonder what would have been different tonight if they had not used it then.

  1. I don’t get Jamie Foxx — the man’s actually a talented musician, why does he feel the need to overburden his music with all of those effects?

  2. yea, Adam got a reality check,I liked him at first, but now, he annoys me, especially that one note he hits in all his songs . And if any of these 5 had been on the show with Taylor Hicks, he would not have won…..

  3. Loved the look on the faces of Allison and Danny> They seemed actually stunned. I like Allison a lot. She’s different and seems not as strained as the others when she’s performing. Like her funky costumes.

    Doubt she’ll make it thou!

Disliked Taylor HIcks as much as I did before; maybe even more.
