I encourage everyone to vote. We do not register as Republican, Democrat, Green, Libertarian, etc. We simply register.
As such, it is our right to vote, and our duty to do so with as much knowledge of the candidates and issues as we can attain.
Today I looked for my youngest son’s name in the voting rolls and discovered he was not registered at all, despite having filled out the form with the DMV when he got his license. I walked his application to the voting registrar’s office just to be safe.
This was the second one of my three kids who was NOT registered despite filling out the Motor-Voter form. My middle child was very disappointed he couldn’t vote for Jim Webb due to this.
Let’s see someone fix this problem in Richmond.
What could Richmond do to fix that problem? It is clearly a mistake on the local level with paperwork not being moved from DMV to the registrar.
Not everything can be fixed with laws and not everything that can be fixed with laws should be. Government was meant to divide people, not bring them together, that job was supposed to be left to society…
