Go vote

voteartistic.jpgThe phone calls have (almost) all been made. The last literature has  been mailed. Tuesday, June 9, Democratic voters across the Commonwealth will make our choices known by casting our ballots for the candidates we believe best suited to represent us.

Here in Hampton Roads, voters will choose our candidate for governor and lieutenant governor. In addition, there are a couple of primaries – in the 80th and the 90th House of Delegates districts.  The Virginian-Pilot has put together voter guides for all of these races. If you haven’t made up your mind, check out the guides for governor, lieutenant governor, this article on the 80th and this one on the 90th. Portsmouth voters will also have the opportunity to chose the nominee for sheriff and city treasurer.

You can check what is on your ballot by clicking here. You can find your polling place here.

I’ll be out doing the poll worker thing for Brian Moran Tuesday.  And then I’ll be joining fellow Democrats at the Primary Election Watch Party being hosted by the VBDC. The party starts at 7pm at Guadalajara (4611 Columbus Street in Town Center).  We’ll all be cheering for our chosen candidates but at the end of the night, we’ll be cheering for the winners. Come join in the fun!

  1. Thanks Brian for standing up to Terry and his bogus claims.
I will work so hard for Creigh to make him our next governor.
Thanks to all who worked so hard.
See you in Williamsburg for the Unity Rally on Sat!

  2. Say, Vivian, considering that Deeds got the least amount of donations, and 92% of that was from in-state, while McAuliffe took over three-quarters of his donations from out-of-state, and considering that Deeds came very close to out-poling Moran and McAuliffe combined, I really don’t see that restricting donations to eligible voters would be a big impediment. Do you?

  3. BTW, apparently, Kory beat Hull, who was the incumbent getting money from corporate sponsors and from all over the state. (Of course, he had access to them; Kory did not.) Kory had mostly local, individual donors.

Again I say, only allow VOTERS to donate who are eligible to vote for the candidate to whom they are contributing.
