Planned Parenthood launches site: Backwards Bob

Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC has launched a new website aimed at Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell. The site seeks to “educate voters about McDonnell’s real record on women’s health.”

The site features this video:

Bob McDonnell’s positions on reproductive health care put him at odds with the vast majority of Virginians. It’s not just that he opposes a woman’s right to choose, even in cases of rape or incest. He is out of the mainstream on commonsense, preventive measures like birth control, emergency contraception and comprehensive sex education.

McDonnell’s attempts to hide his record prompted Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC to initiate an online campaign that includes a website, online advertising, and social media.

“Bob McDonnell has voted against women’s health throughout his entire career. His record shows that if elected Governor, women in Virginia will take a giant step backwards,” said Jessica Honke, Director of Public Policy, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia. “We want to make sure voters are well-informed about his stance on issues that really matter to women and their health. We believe that when people find out about Backwards Bob McDonnell, it will influence their vote in November.”

  1. Yeah, like there’s any chance that a bill banning abortion even in cases of rape and incest would get through the legislature, AND pass Constitutional muster.

    How about a REAL issue?

  2. Bob McDonnell, while Attorney General in 2008, was a featured speaker at the 2008 National Right to Life Committee meeting. He said:

These elections matter because elections determine who’s got the powerand who’s going to make the decisions and whether or not, as Wanda said, they are Pro‐Life or not will make an eternal difference in the statutes and in the legislatures all over this country. Not only in a federal election because it determines who’s going to be appointed but in all these state elections because ultimately most of the decisions that are made on the issue of abortion are made by your state legislatures and so you need to be active I know you need a rest from time to time but you know you can rest in eternity, but for now, while you’re on this earth, we need your help at every election. It says Virginia is for Lovers, it should say Virginia is for Lovers of Elections because we’ve got at least one or two a year in Virginia. So, you Virginians, you get no rest because we’ve always got something we need you to do. Those policy makers with the votes determine whether or not you’re going to have a pro‐life state where protections are given to the unborn consistent with federal court decisions or whether you’re going to have a different kind of policy.

  3. If for no other reason, women especially, should be scared to death of Bob McDonald as Governor. He is on the wrong side of a woman’s health, on all counts!

  4. I like the term Burka Bob, member of the American Taliban.

Why don’t you woman just do what what men like Burka Bob tell you to do?
