Shannon’s plan to reduce gang violence

Steve Shannon, the Democratic candidate for Attorney General, released a plan today to crack down on gang violence.

Steve Shannon“Gang violence and recruitment are a top threat to public safety here in Virginia,” said Shannon. “As Attorney General I will work with schools, community groups and parents to stop gang activity before it starts. I will also work to give prosecutors and law enforcement the tools they need to crack down on gang members who threaten our communities.”

The plan can be downloaded here (pdf).

  1. “…give prosecutors and law enforcement the tools they need to crack down on gang members…”

    Define, “gang member.”

These increased police powers will be used against any group deemed to be, “politically incorrect” in the future. How would you like your church’s youth group to be declared a “gang cell” by the police?

The Bush regime already increased police powers to the level of that of an Eastern European police state. If anything, we need to reign-in police power over the citizens.

BOTH Shannon and Cuccinelli are falling all over each other with new proposals to put more Virginians in jail, while NEITHER has pledged to be a champion of justice for our citizens.

We need better candidates who will pledge to reign-in government power and enhance our liberty.

Where are the Constitution Party and Libertarian Party candidates? We need better choices than what Shannon or Cuccinelli are offering.

  2. “Where are the Constitution Party and Libertarian Party candidates?”

They are yapping their gums about “how much better the world would be if they were in charge”, but sadly aren’t running any candidates to make their pipe dreams, a reality! They can talk you to death, but can’t run a winning campaign!

And Mouse, come on, you’ve managed to work the scary “internet” to post this question, why not show some initiative and LOOK IT UP YOURSELF? Duuuuhhhhhhh!

    1. Because I am not the one running his campaign or promoting him as a candidate. Those who are should have these answers already.
