I’ve started doing these afternoon roundups to grab the info that has come out during the day you may have missed. Today, not much happening out there. Here’s what I’ve heard about:
Republican AG candidate Ken Cuccinelli held a press conference call this morning to announce his plans for the AG’s office to advocate on behalf of veterans. Right on cue, his Democratic opponent Steve Shannon announced the support of 30 veterans.
In another ticket-splitting move, the Northern Virginia Tech Council endorsed Republican Bob McDonnell for governor and Democrat Steve Shannon for AG.
Democrat Creigh Deeds received the endorsement today of the Sierra Club Virginia Chapter and the Virginia League of Conservation Voters.
Friday morning, Shannon and Cuccinelli square off in a debate at 10am on WTOP.
Oh – and ICYMI, Nike says it does not have a deal with Michael Vick.
Like I said, not much today. What did I miss?
I’m headed out to the Kiwanis Harbor Party & Seafood Feast. It’s Norfolk’s version of the Shad Planking – without the bony fish 🙂 Not sure exactly how many of the politicians are going to be there, but I’m taking my cameras just in case I get a chance for a little video or photos.
That’s a pretty lame move on the NVTC’s part. But I suspect they’re just reading the tea leaves and preparing for the future.
NVTC endorsed a Republican!? No way! I’m shocked! Shock,I tell you!
Yeah, but they also endorsed a Democrat.
Tells you how scary Cucc is.
Yep
Please, Please, Please tell me how Cuccinelli is so scary!
He’s scary because I think he’s running under false pretenses. I think he’s a closet liberal. Before you know it he will be siding with individuals against corporations. He’ll be hiring more public defenders and trying to protect the rights of women. He might even advocate for public schools and not the Christian madrassas. Now wouldn’t that be just terrible?!
