Bill Bolling is up 17 points in the latest SurveyUSA poll. So why did he release an attack ad? Could it be that SurveyUSA’s numbers aren’t accurate and Bolling’s own internal polling is showing a tightening of the race?

Tom Shields, the Democratic candidate in the 73rd district, held a press conference yesterday in front of the closed Qimonda plant. Shields pledged to “do everything I can to attract clean energy companies to the 73rd District and to the Commonwealth, starting with finding a buyer for Qimonda.”
Shields faces incumbent Republican John O’Bannon.

I was a bit surprised to see that MacArthur Center in Norfolk has decided to crack down on kids under 18 hanging out unsupervised in the mall after 5pm. Not surprised that they would require a “supervising adult” over 21 – no need for the malls to be a babysitting service – but the hour just seems a little early.

In the words of my buddy MB, do it, DC.

UPDATE: How the heck did I miss this?
Looks like TD is tougher than TO, who won’t play with “turf toe.”

Don’t get your hopes up, Vivian. A better explanation is likely that he has cash to spend and wants to try to pad his lead.
FWIW, this poll doesn’t gibe well with SUSA’a other polls in the statewide races.
Pad his lead? When the House candidates are in competitive races? That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, Brian. If he’s got extra cash, he should be spreading it around.
Fair point, but any elected official’s first priority is his own career. He’ll let a marginal candidate or two dangle if that assures him four more years in office – and a shot at the big job in 2013.
