Except one small problem: when given the opportunity to cut his pay, Virginia Beach Councilman, now the Republican challenger to incumbent Democrat Bobby Mathieson, basically punted.
Last February, fellow council member Bill Steph proposed a 25% pay cut for the region’s highest paid council.
“It’s not like we’re phoning it in,” said Councilman Ron Villanueva. “Every week, my calendar is full. Everybody on that council works for that money.”
The cut never materialized.
What has changed since February? Why that would be the decision of Villanueva to run for the House of Delegates.
The best thing the voters in the 21st can do is make sure Ron stays home and helps enact that pay cut 🙂 Vote Bobby Mathieson for Delegate.
