I’ve got five tickets for the Obama/Deeds rally coming up in Norfolk at the Ted Constant Convocation Center this coming Tuesday. These aren’t the general admission tickets. These are the guaranteed admission tickets. With these tickets, you will get in.
And you can win one. Here’s how:
In the comments below, tell me why you are supporting Creigh Deeds for governor. And tell me why you think you should win a ticket.
The deadline for entries is 5pm Monday, October 26. At 6pm, I’ll pick the five best comments and announce the winners. Make sure you enter a valid email address as winners will also be notified by email.
I’ll be updating this post with more details about the rally as they become available. And to make it easy to find, I’ll keep this post stuck to the top of the blog until the entry deadline passes. (New blog content will be below this post.)
UPDATE Saturday, 11:24am: Just got some more details on the rally. The doors will open at 2pm. Because parking is an issue, please consider carpooling. The rally program is scheduled to start at 3:50pm.
I am soooo curious to see if ANYONE will be vying for these tickets. In light of today’s Washington Post article, who would want to waste a few hours of their lives to see a “phony” rally for Deeds by Obama.
I am interested in reading why folks are supporting Deeds in light of the fact that he has ran the most negative campaign in Virginia politics, and also refused to follow the advice of the very people he now brings in to rally the voters.
actually, he hasn’t . all of mcdonell’s are introducted with negative campaign ads.
and then he has photos with his daughters, as if he cares about women’s issues.
Manchurian candidate, for sure.
I am supporting Creigh Deeds, because he is not Bob McDonnell!
This sounds like a great idea, Vivian! I wish I could attend, but with the year-end financial process still on going for me (9/30 fiscal year), not likely. But I do want to share my support. Also, I would vote for J Tyler Ballance’s comment (10/21 @ 11:20pm) on the Obama Coming to ODU post.
I am supporting Deeds because I genuinely believe he has the best interests of the people in Virginia at heart. He is cautious in his support for particular initiatives, which shows me that he places importance on intelligently evaluating all the options. He has shown a willingness to support a real solution to our transportation problem rather than letting ideology bind him to some feeble gimmicks. And that is generally true with all of his other initiatives. He doesn’t want to set some arbitrary funding allocation for education. And though I may disagree with him on some issues, I would expect that he would be receptive to all arguments.
Most important to me is that he is not a movement social conservative. Despite the fact that McDonnell has done everything to disguise that he is a Pat Robertson Republican, it doesn’t change the fact that he is. I just can’t support someone who romanticizes a past that never existed.
And I also agree with your assessment the other day, for redistricting alone, he deserves my support.
pick me! pick me!, I don’t support Deeds, however I should receive a ticket because it will be interesting to see the exchange between Deeds and Obama especially after the article in today’s Wash Post.

Vivian, I already have a ticket but I support Creigh Deeds for his excellent work in the Virginia State Senate.
He has brought a lot of bipartisanship in his role as a senate leader.
I don’t think his campaign has been negative. Pointing out the thesis he wrote is important as he tried out most of those bullet points by sponsoring anti women bills.
And the report today that a CNN poll has repubs at an all time low in favorablity makes me wonder where these posters come from. The pop up to say how much they hate our President, a man who is trying to clean up 8 years of the repubs mess.
Creigh is a good and fine man and I think he will win Nov 3. The undecideds are quite high and I think they will come home in the next two weeks.
I am so excited to see President Obama as I was there in Denver, with you, when he received the nomination.
He is an inspiration to our young citizens and I look forward to see him continue to succeed in coming years.
The republicans are in the wilderness.
laura,
honestly, what has the current administration done to “clean up” any mess? If you think the current economic climate we are in now is a result of and only of the last 8 years, then you are really nieve and in fact you are the one that is in the wilderness!
I am a Deeds supporter: I have to repeat tx2vadem because this is what I believe. He has the best interests of “all” the people in Virginia at heart. He is cautious in his support for particular initiatives, which shows me that he places importance on intelligently evaluating all the options.
I want what is best for the people of VA.
nope not me. if you can’t see what we have gone through, you are in the wilderness.
laura,
you are truly a clueless individual if you think the Obama Administration can not be held responsible for any part of the current economic climate. I think the wilderness is making you delusional.
Yes, Obama should take some credit for the Stock Market rebounding and that home sales are improving!
Vivian shows you trolls a lot of graciousness. Perhaps you could return the favor for once and lay off while she’s trying to do something nice for others.
Thank you, MB.
amen!
I agree, stick to the issue at hand.
We need a governor that cares about Va, not his extreme right wing anti women agenda.
I support Creigh Deeds because he is an honest and decent man. He doesn’t pit women against men, or one group against another. He understands that we are all in this together. He doesn’t have to pretend to be something he’s not. He has no past or thesis or strings to hide. He is not in the pocket of any crackpot televangelist. If I want to know where Creigh Deeds stands on an issue, I don’t have to research years of statements, re-statements, misstatements, mischaracterizations, and re-characterizations. I can just ask him. Unlike his opponent, I can take Creigh Deeds at his word and know that his answer will be an honest one.
I am a proud democratic, not because my entire is one, but because we believe in helping our fellow man/woman. I support Creigh Deeds for his honesty and excellent work he has done as our Virginia State Senate. He has displayed himself as a leader in Virginia. Leaders is what we need as our Governor. He will be the type of Governor who will go the extra mile to help/support the people in Virginia. I support him with the effort in supporting our school system in order to improve the standards of education for hour children. These children are our future and if we give up on them now, where will they be. He is willing to work hard to rebuild our community and decreased the crimes within them especially violent crimes committed by our juveniles. I am a hugh supporter and I will do all I can to make sure that you become our next Governor of Virgnia.
I’m afraid you have it a bit backward dear. It is conservatives, generally, who give more of their money, time, and even blood, to charity than liberals do. Liberals say they want to help their fellow man, but they implement policies that force others to do so.
I support Creigh Deeds because he is the right Candidate for Virginia. He knows what is going on, and has the people to lead him in the right direction! He is also very hard working. That is something that I can admire in a man! The way he has taken a stand for higher education is astounding!
I am voting for Creigh Deeds because he is the best candidate and has maintained his values consistently over the years!
I am voting for Creigh Deeds because Virginia can not let Bob McDonnell embroil Virginia in 17th Century social issues for the next 4 years.
