  1. Junelle, Vivian would know better than me, but I suspect that if you do a bit of leg(phone?)work, you might be able to come by one. Anyone else here have suggestions?

  2. Thank you guys so much….. I am from the Caribbean (Virgin Islands) and it would truly be an Honor if I just got to see President Obama, as everyone in the Caribbean loves him, and is so proud and happy for him. I will consider this a privilege. Vivian, when you say early, how early do you mean?

  3. I hope this energizes folks for next week. I have to say the post and comments were very refreshing (sans the folks who missed the point, of course). And being so often critical in my comments, I rarely get a chance to be positive. =)

  4. I just returned from the rally. I spent about 8 hours at the Ted Constant Center as a volunteer. Despite what Bearing Drift and the McCarthyists (aka teabaggers) will claim, turnout was very high. As for the lack of signs, rally attendees were not allowed to bring in their own signs because it would slow down the security process at the door. Signs – preprinted and handmade – were handed out inside the Center. But I wouldn’t expect someone standing on the street waving their own misspelled signs to know that. :o) Everyone in line was able to get in, and I hope that included Junelle.

  5. Thanks for the ticket, this was a great rally! A couple of dozen protesters out front when I came in, a handful when I left. Of course they got more press attention than their tiny numbers merited. Had to laugh at the older guy all decked out in teabagalia who was earnestly telling a college-age man that “we’ve been through this before!” and trying to explain about Hitler.

I have to give you credit for laughing because I probably would have tried to kick him where it hurts. I suppose it’s easy to compare your unhappiness with fairly elected Democrats to the Holocaust or American slavery when neither you, your relatives, or your ancestors have never gone through anything like that (and in many cases, were on the other side).

BTW, when are the rest of us going to invoke Godwin’s Law on the Teabaggers?
