Dear Friend, This week, President Obama will sign historic health reform legislation that extends coverage to millions of uninsured Americans while making health care more affordable and accessible for all. Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli said he will file a lawsuit to block it “as soon as the ink is dry” on President Obama’s signature. This is an egregious waste of taxpayer dollars that could stop Virginians from enjoying the benefits of health care reform. We must not stand by and let Ken Cuccinelli claim he speaks for us. Click here, or the image to your right, to call the Attorney General right now and tell him you support health care reform — tell him to stop wasting taxpayer money on frivolous lawsuits. It takes just a minute and will add your voice to millions of Virginians who support health care reform and want the Attorney General to stop embarrassing Virginia and wasting tax dollars.

So Viv, who do you propose we put in charge of determining which laws, duly passed by the GA, the AG is allowed to defend? Would you and Mr. Englin rather Ken just shrug his shoulders and say, “I know the GA passed this bill, and the Governor signed it, but I don’t think it’s worth defending.” What kind of precedent would that set?
Perhaps you and Mr. Englin would be happy if we just did away with the AG office altogether? Or maybe even better, keep all 140 members of the GA at home we won’t have to make these tough decisions.
