Perriello rocks

At the annual Jefferson Jackson dinner last Saturday night, I heard Congressman Tom Perriello speak for the first time.

Agree or disagree, Perriello demonstrated the courage to vote his conscience.  That his family – in particular his brother – is paying a price for that vote seems unreal. The idea of disagreeing with someone without being disagreeable appears to have been lost.

I intend to do my part to reward Perriello for his courage of convictions.

  1. The ultimate “reward” for the congressman will be determined by the voters of his district, who elected him to represent them and their interests. Election night should be clarifying, indeed.

  2. I am so happy healthcare reform is at least started. I know there is a lot more to do, including a public option, but this is a great start.

I wish everyone would get together and close the borders and quit getting everything from China. I have been saying for YEARS that I’d rather pay $15 for a t-shirt made in America, than $2 made in China.

Sure, things would cost more, but we would have our jobs back….

I hope someone puts a stop to that in the near future…

Thanks, Tom, for all your hard work. I’m ashamed to be a Republican, but hate to get completely out of the party… I hope they get some stability and some manners soon. The Republicans now seem like a bunch of poor sports because they lost, and they are using the people to get them hyped up about stupid things.

Tom, you could have spent the last 2 years sucking up to the rich people in your district. You didn’t… You have always fought for those who are less fortunate, and that is what we should do as Americans, not Democrats, not Republicans, as AMERICANS.

    Thanks for fighting for us…

I hope we can all show our appreciation for him come election time….

People say that, but business continues to boom at Walmart.

    1. Every stinking member of the GOP voted no, which I am sure was just a coincidence and unanimous vote based on conscience while Perriello was a party hack.

      Makes sense to me!

  3. Among many of his talents, Warren is a gifted psychic, able to search deep into the minds and hearts of men and discern what they’re really thinking when he decides that we shouldn’t simply take them at face value and believe the words coming out of their mouths.

    Neat trick, that.

    1. When someone says that one you agree with voted his conscience (How much conscience does it take to vote to take money from some people to give to others, anyway?) you cheer wildly. When someone points out that he voted the Party Line (which he did) THEN you deride that person as “able to search deep into the minds and hearts of men and discern what they’re really thinking.”

Is that not what Vivian herself did in claiming that he voted his conscience?

  4. It’s his opinion, Dogwood, he’s entitled. Of course, opinions are like armpits; everbody’s got ’em, and most of them stink ( except mine ).
