The Future of Hampton Roads (FHR) will host a Regional Futures’ Conference to address regional cooperation and to inspire and empower future leaders in Hampton Roads. This free event will be held Tuesday, April 20 from 2pm to 6:30pm at the Crowne Plaza Marina Hotel in Hampton.
Speaking at the conference will be Robert Puentes, Director of Metropolitan Infrastructure Initiative at The Brookings Institution. An author and a nationally recognized regionalist, Puentes will focus on the basic framework and best practices needed to enhance regional effectiveness, regional competitiveness and on policies required to achieve effective unity in Hampton Roads. A panel discussion will follow Puentes’ presentation and will include Newport News Mayor Joe S. Frank, Randy Gilliland of the Hampton Roads Green Alliance, Willie Session of the Norfolk FBI office, will address regional community law enforcement matters, and FHR president Ray Taylor.
