On Thursday, April 8, the Norfolk Federation of Civic Leagues hosted a forum for the candidates running for City Council. I previously reported on that forum here.
Ward 5 is currently represented by Randy Wright, who did not participate in this forum. The challengers are (click on the name to be taken to the candidate’s website):
- Matt Hales. A first time candidate, Hales is the co-owner of an engineering and logistics firm.
- Tommy Smigiel. Another first time candidate, Smigiel is an assistant principal at Granby and former Virginia Teacher of the Year.
