Help the Foodbank

Yes, I’ve written about this on numerous occasions. And I even mentioned it at my civic league last night. Bottom line: the economy is tough and people are hungry. The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia is reporting a “critical shortage in donations.”

Help if you can. Thanks!

UPDATE: I’d like to join Brian Kirwin in calling for all campaigns and debate/forum hosts to promote these events as “Foodbank events” and accept non-perishable canned goods and cash from now until Election Day. “Politics is politics, but helping those in need should be something everyone can agree on.”

  1. And I will second that motion. If you can give, please do. If you need help, the Foodbank and it’s hundreds of member agencies are there. Let’s hope our beter nature always prevails through donations or volunteer hours.
Brian, make a few calls. Call Steve Terveer at the Newport News Foodbank and call Joanne Batson at the Foodbank of SEVA. It’s an excellent idea and I’m sure they would both support it.
