Portsmouth mayor financial reports in

The financial reports for the upcoming special election for Portsmouth Mayor have been posted on the Virginia Public Access website.  Eight candidates are vying for the seat, which became open as the result of the recall of James Holley.

  • D Stefan Adams – $368 raised ($25 in cash), $25 on hand
  • William C Baker – $0 raise, $0 on hand
  • Lee Cherry – $2,785 raised (including $100 in loans), $1,245 on hand
  • Mark A Geduldig-Yatrofski – $286 raised ($40 in cash, $200 in loans), $240 on hand
  • Terry L Hancock, Sr – $300 raised, $(1,444) on hand
  • C W “Bill” Moran, II – $0 raised, $0 on hand
  • Elizabeth Morse Psimas – $9,800 raised (including $100 in loans), $3,499 on hand
  • Kenneth I Wright – $26,210 raised (including $25,000 in loans), $10,192 on hand

Looking at the data on the SBE website, only two of the candidates filed electronically. Psimas shows a total of 38 donors while Wright shows a total of 7. That so little has been raised – less than $15,000 combined – makes me wonder whether anyone in Portsmouth is paying attention to this race. Perhaps some of the energy that went into recalling Holley needs to be channeled into determining who will next lead the city.

As promised earlier, here’s the financial information for Earl Fraley: raised $1,581, on hand $696 (although the SBE shows on hand as $885).
