James Quigley, candidate for Congress

In the latest installment of Politalk Virginia, I interviewed Libertarian candidate James Quigley, who is running for Congress from the 3rd Congressional District.

  1. This is by far the best interview of a local candidate I have seen in a long while. James Quigley knows what what this country needs and he isn’t afraid to tell you what he thinks. He is for liberty and freedom for all of us. The government has been gradually stripping away out rights.
Remember, every new law equals a right that the government has turned into a privilege that they control. A vote for Quigley is a vote for freedom.

  2. The thing that attracted me to James’s campaign was his eagerness to represent EVERYONE. There isn’t an elitest bone in his body. He’s willing to go anywhere and talk to anybody.

I’m not sure that will help him “fit in” with the rest of Congress. Then again, do we want our representative to be drawn into an elitest group and forget how it is to be one of the represented?

I don’t agree with him on every single issue, but do on most. He really is ready to stand up in Congress and fight for us. Some people have the fortitude to stand against peer pressure and shady persuasion. Some people cave immediately. He’s not afraid to take a path with resistance. He did after all take up the challenge of running under a third party banner.

The economy is a mess and individual liberty has been threatend by both parties. We hoped for change but, got more of the same. Still spending but, faster than under Bush, maybe a little less “At war” but, we still suffer casulties from what were labeled as “Bush’s wars”. Just when you thought the “Police State” was GOP territory and FISA & Patriot Act were Repub topics (because I wanted to believe Russel Feingold just wasn’t partisan sniping and really belived what he said) you see Team Obama wanting to monitor Facebook, Twitter, and Skype using legislation as needed.

Ok, the Dems turn to lecture us about “Homeland Security” and who is “patriotic”?

I want real change. I want a real choice. I am completely tired of being forced to pick the “lesser of two evils”.

As always, Vivian was very fair in the interview. The lighting was horrible for James(observation-not complaining) and he is a little more polished now then back during that interview, but this is still very nice to see.

    1. I learn a little bit more about video recording every time I do one of these interviews.

Yes, the lighting was horrible. Since I recorded the video, I’ve purchased some lights so that will not be a problem in the future.

And I’ll never set the camera to the side again.
