Sen. L. Louise Lucas issued the following statement:
Democrats across Virginia need a strong and knowledgeable leader to fight for the party in the next election. I know Brian Moran is fully aware of what goes on in the General Assembly and the State Senate. Years ago, Brian and I jointly gave the response to Gov. Gilmore’s State of the Commonwealth Address. His commitment to maintaining our Democratic majority in the Senate is as strong as it was when he was House Caucus Chair, as he personally knows how important it is for Democrats in the Senate to stop the extreme agenda of the House Republicans. Brian Moran is the right person to lead our party as the next Chairman of the Democratic Party of Virginia.
In case you missed it, Mark Brooks also endorsed Brian this week. I spoke with Senate majority leader Dick Saslaw earlier this week and he is supporting Brian for chair.
From every corner of Virginia, from the grassroots to the grasstops, Brian Moran has garnered support. I’m looking forward to his election.
