Dr. Gilbert Yochum, professor of economics, has been named the Dean of the College of Business and Public Administration at Old Dominion University.
It’s really good to see that, after a nationwide search, ODU found its next dean right here at home. Yochum has been at ODU since 1975 and has been the acting dean since last July.
Of course, he was one of my professors in graduate school, for one of those economic courses I sweated through. (I get economics conceptually – it’s the math that kills me π¦ )
Congrats to Dr. Yochum!
Quick accounting question to a former employee of the Treasury Department: if I write “I get taxes conceptually, it’s the math that’s hard” on my return, what’s the worst that could happen? π
That would never fly because the only math skills you need for taxes are the basics: addition, subtraction, occasionally multiplication and division. π
Unlike economics, which requires calculus, which I’ve never taken. I’m guessing that’s why I never got the math part π
