One Economy, The Community Builders (TCB), and the Norfolk Digital Inclusion Community Advisory Board cordially invite you to participate in the We Are Now Connected Kickoff Event and Community TechFest @ Broad Creek.  Through the power of technology, Norfolk has created a fortified commitment to improving economic, education and health outcomes for its residents. In the Great Broad Creek community, the City of Norfolk and residents set forth to focus on innovative practices, education and technology approaches aimed at the development of both children and adults. With the generous support from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, non-profit One Economy is working hand in hand with community members, corporate, and political leaders to expand broadband opportunities in communities in Norfolk, the region, and across the United States.

We are pleased to announce a major step toward Norfolk’s “smart community”. Come celebrate Broad Creek residents getting connected with free internet, local resources, videos and tools.

Event highlights include:

* Networking with local stakeholders and elected officials
* Preview One Economy’s We Are Now Connected Mobile Technology Lab
* Meet SuperWhy! and receive books for summer reading
* Learn to use Ipad and Ipod Touch taught by Apple experts
* Hands on forensics and rocket demonstrations
* Protect your home with modern technology
