No, they have until the polls close on primary day, Aug. 23. The deadline last month was for people who wanted to be on the primary ballot. The district parties still have the option of choosing candidates by convention or caucus.
I wasn’t thinking late in terms of the filing date, but late in terms of getting a campaign underway.
Oh, well in that case, yes. But better late than never, right?
