Gary West, who ran in the 93rd oops! 94th two years ago, is a candidate for the now open seat.
In a phone call, West says it appears he is the only candidate seeking the Democratic nomination. I had heard that former Commissioner of the Revenue Charles Crowson was considering a run but West told me that Colson is supporting him.
This is great news for Democrats, not just in Newport News but throughout Hampton Roads and Virginia. West is one of the good ones.
As soon as he has a site up, I’ll let you know.
