Yesterday was the filing deadline for campaign finance disclosure reports for candidates on the ballot in November. The data below covers the period July 1 to August 10 and was taken from the Virginia Public Access Project, better known as VPAP. As of this writing, the information on VPAP is just the raw data from the State Board of Elections filings. Value-added data is to be available Wednesday afternoon.
Here’s what the records show for local races (note: * indicates incumbent):

1st (leans D)
John Miller (D)* – raised $52,174, on hand $137,121
Mickey Chohany (R) – raised $115,474, on hand $127,239 (includes $30,000 in loans)
2nd (solid D)
Mamie Locke (D)* – raised N/A $1,272, on hand N/A $48,163

Tommy Norment (R)* – raised $83,270, on hand $387,527
Mark Frechette (R) – raised $1,075, on hand $152
The winner of the August 23 primary has no other competition as of this writing.
6th (leans D)

Ben Loyola (R) – raised $95,466 including $51,000 in loans, on hand $67,166 (includes $51,400 in loans)
Surprised to see that Loyola had to loan his campaign money. I thought he’d have more contributions since winning the nomination July 9. Maybe he didn’t do so well in that poll the RPVA did for him.
House of Delegates
21st (leans R)
Ron Villanueva (R)* – raised $19,853, on hand $31,797 (includes $5,000 in loans)
Adrianne Bennett (D) – raised $26,825, on hand $11,636
As I said before, this could be the race to watch in Hampton Roads. Bennett got a late start, entering the race just before the last filing deadline.
64th (leans R)

Richard Morris (R) – raised N/A $18,414, on hand N/A $13,696
