Kenneth C. Alexander, who currently represents the 89th district in the House of Delegates, announced today his intention to seek the seat in the 5th Senate District. The seat became vacant with the death of longtime Senator Yvonne Miller earlier this month.
Gov. Bob McDonnell announced earlier today that the special election to fill this seat will be held September 4.
