Two polls out today show former governor Tim Kaine leading former governor George Allen in the contest to replace retiring one-term Senator Jim Webb.
Quinnipiac University Polling Institute reports Kaine leading Allen by 7 points, 51 to 44. The same poll shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney by 4, 50 to 46.
The Washington Post poll reports a similar margin for the Kaine/Allen race, with Kaine up 8, 51 to 43.
As the campaigns battle to the finish, the next 47 days are going to be a barrage of ads and phone calls. I’ve been polled a couple of times so far this election season, most recently by the RNC last night. I’ll bet I get taken off their call list 🙂
No one can remain complacent, though. So get out and help the candidates. The only poll that matters is the one on Election Day.
