Susie Garner for Delegate

I just got a phone call from Susie Garner, who is running for the House of Delegates in the 5th district. No doubt I got the call because Susie, like me, is a CPA. A quick check around the blogsphere reveals a couple a of posts on her announcement back in February here and here. … Continue reading Susie Garner for Delegate

Marty Williams hits back

For whatever reason, I got a press release a couple of days ago from the Marty Williams (Senate 01) campaign. It seems that he has challenged his primary opponent, Tricia Stall, to a televised debate. Now, it's enough for me to follow the Southside Hampton Roads races that I haven't had time to pay attention … Continue reading Marty Williams hits back

Unbelievable!

I am absolutely astounded that Norfolk managed to reduce the real estate tax rate 16 cents. Not only that, but council managed to fully fund the School Board's request and increase the pay of public safety employees by 5%. Kudos to the Norfolk Tea Party 2 for keeping the pressure on. Of course, there will … Continue reading Unbelievable!

VA Pilot catches up

Things are really bad when the local newspaper covers a local story after someone else does. Such is the case of the story about a Norfolk student who was suspended for two days because she accepted an over-the-counter pain killer from another student. Alice at GOTV alerted us to this story yesterday. The story first … Continue reading VA Pilot catches up

Report: Obama in Richmond

I think Willie Nelson is a talented musician. He wrote the Patsy Cline hit "Crazy," among other songs. Given the opportunity to see him in concert, I eagerly obtained tickets a few years ago. He appeared at the NorVA, a local hotspot. If you've never been to the NorVA, let me just say that the … Continue reading Report: Obama in Richmond
