Final thoughts on FL/MI
I managed to watch, pretty much uninterrupted, the presentations made by the FL and MI challengers and the campaigns Saturday to the Rules and Bylaws Committee of the DNC. Although I started out in CNN, I quickly changed over to CSPAN, mainly to avoid the talking heads. After doing so, I headed out to a … Continue reading Final thoughts on FL/MI
Obama leaves church
The AP is reporting that Barack Obama and his family have resigned their membership in Trinty. Obama campaign communications director Robert Gibbs said Obama had resigned from the church "over the last few days." Interesting.
DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee open thread
I'm watching the coverage of the RBC hearing. I happen to be watching CNN's coverage right now (you can watch streaming coverage here) but I'm sure other channels are covering it, too. Anyone else watching? Right now, DNC Howard Dean is speaking. Wants three things: Respect the voters in FL/MI, including those who didn't vote … Continue reading DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee open thread
Statement from Robert Kennedy Jr.
Robert Kennedy Jr. issued the following statement this evening: "It is clear from the context that Hillary was invoking a familiar political circumstance in order to support her decision to stay in the race through June. Electoral votes map 5/16/08
As compiled by Electoral Vote. See the Obama details here and the Clinton details here. UPDATE: Check out this post by Cokie Roberts. I think this was what she was trying to say last Sunday but the talking heads wouldn't let her get a word in.
Hillary takes WV
OK, so it's not a surprise that Hillary Clinton has been projected the winner of the WV primary. But did you know that no Democrat has won the White House since 1916 without winning the WV? Democrats carried West Virginia in 1992 and 1996, but lost the state—and the White House--in 2000 and 2004. Hmm. … Continue reading Hillary takes WV
The aftermath
The writing of the obituary of the Hillary Clinton campaign for the Democratic nomination for president began in earnest on Wednesday morning. Her narrow win in Indiana coupled with the loss in North Carolina has all of the pundits weighing in. I don't think anyone can deny that the path to the nomination hasn't narrowed. … Continue reading The aftermath
Report: Generations of Women for Hillary
The Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC was the setting for Wednesday's gathering of some 1,500 women (and a few men 🙂 ) who support Hillary Clinton's presidential bid. I had not originally planned to attend this event but when contacted about it Saturday evening, I decided to go. After all, what better way to … Continue reading Report: Generations of Women for Hillary
