I’m back!
I got in late last night. Had a great trip to Upper Michigan, near the Canadian border. I actually went into Canada for dinner Monday night. The most amazing thing about that part of the country? The length of the days. Sunset at 9:30 pm was pretty amazing.
Away for a couple of days
I'm in Michigan right now and internet access is a bit spotty. I'll be back home in a couple of days. Y'all be nice to each other 😉
The Pulpit Speaks: June 30, 1956
An article written by my father as it appeared in the Tri-State Defender on the date shown. "FACING UP TO LIFE" - Part I "Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God" Do you ever face up to life? Do you ever stop and wonder what is behind this thing … Continue reading The Pulpit Speaks: June 30, 1956
Fallout from the blog conference
One of the items discussed in detail at the conference was the issue of whether bloggers are journalists. It seems that the journalist panelists mostly thought we are not, mainly because our work is not subject to an editorial process. I concede the point that we do not have editors. In this photo (click to enlarge), which I believe it was taken on 6/15/50, the date of his graduation from Temple University with a masters' degree in … Continue reading Father’s Day 2006
Blog Summit Day 2
Another fun day of being with fellow bloggers 🙂 I was thinking about listing the ones that I met and then I realized that if I did that, I'd certainly leave someone out and I don't want to do that. There was actually one person that I met - Tucker - whose last name I … Continue reading Blog Summit Day 2
Blog Summit Day 1
It's late and I'm exhausted but I have thoroughly enjoyed the first day of the blog summit. It was fun putting names with faces and chatting with bloggers from all over the state and on both sides of the aisle. Waldo has more details in his post here. Oh - and let me make a … Continue reading Blog Summit Day 1
More posts later
As is normally the case, I've been under meeting the 15th of the month tax filing deadline, so posting has been light the last couple of days. I'll be back on track soon, hopefully later today. I've got some thoughts about the primary that I need to post. And with the Sorensen bloggers' conference starting … Continue reading More posts later
