In 2001, if memory serves, I accompanied then-Delegate Thelma Drake to a hearing before one of the General Assembly banking committees regarding credit card practices. Speaking before the committee, I provided proof that credit card companies were engaging in unfair practices. My beef was that one company in particular was changing the payment address each … Continue reading Fed proposes to end unfair, deceptive credit card practices

Hillary on a roll
First from Gallup: That would be a 4% lead, outside of the +/-2% MOE for the poll. Insider Advantage (pdf) has Hillary with a 2-point lead over Obama in NC. Rasmussen has Clinton up by 5 points in Indiana while TeleResearch pegs the margin at 10. On the national front, the polls show Clinton to … Continue reading Hillary on a roll
On Jeremiah Wright, part II
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? -- Matthew 16:26 Unless you have been under a rock, you know that Rev. Jeremiah Wright is back in the news, first in an interview with Bill … Continue reading On Jeremiah Wright, part II

Health care’s new math
When does 20% of $753.95 equal $641.60? When $753.95 equals $2,808. Health systems have contracts with insurers about what the insurer will pay for a given procedure. (Sorry - I didn't catch all the names.) A couple of quick things: All said that Clinton was outspent by about 3:1 in Pennsylvania Since 10pm last night, Clinton … Continue reading HRC conference call: $10 million raised since last night!
PA primary wrapup
Hillary Clinton won PA last night by 10 points, a significant margin. A look at map of where she won was as revealing as anything about the broad nature of her support that has played out time and time again. Two things that have come out of this primary that deserve comment. First, I've read … Continue reading PA primary wrapup
Perfect timing: Clinton wins PA
Just got back from the Legislative Black Caucus event in Richmond (more on that later). Turned on the TV to catch the results and I see not only that Hillary has been declared the winner, but she is just starting to speak. Great job, PA Democrats! Congrats to Senator Clinton!
PA primary day
Got some time today? Help out the Hillary campaign by making phone calls to PA voters. After the polls close, join the Norfolk City Democratic Committee and the Tidewater Young Democrats for a Results Watch Party at The New Belmont. Food and drinks are your responsibility, but you can't beat the company 😉
Campaign hurting the party?
According to a Gallup poll released today, Democrats are about even on whether the continuing campaign is hurting the party, effectively debunking the MSM meme that the voters are tired of the primary and want it to be over. All in all, Democrats are divided on the impact of the continuing and protracted campaign for … Continue reading Campaign hurting the party?
