Just got back from the Legislative Black Caucus event in Richmond (more on that later). Turned on the TV to catch the results and I see not only that Hillary has been declared the winner, but she is just starting to speak. Great job, PA Democrats! Congrats to Senator Clinton!

Got some time today? Help out the Hillary campaign by making phone calls to PA voters. After the polls close, join the Norfolk City Democratic Committee and the Tidewater Young Democrats for a Results Watch Party at The New Belmont. Food and drinks are your responsibility, but you can't beat the company 😉
Campaign hurting the party?
According to a Gallup poll released today, Democrats are about even on whether the continuing campaign is hurting the party, effectively debunking the MSM meme that the voters are tired of the primary and want it to be over. All in all, Democrats are divided on the impact of the continuing and protracted campaign for … Continue reading Campaign hurting the party?
Norfolk Budget Advisory Group
Perusing the Norfolk Compass Sunday, I ran across a four-page supplement about the budget. What caught my eye was a proposal to have a Budget Advisory Group. It is proposed that the City appoint an advisory group (membership to be drawn from residents, business employees and management) to review City business practices related to: Outreach … Continue reading Norfolk Budget Advisory Group

Despite the results of Johnny Camacho's poll, the AP reports that undecided superdelegates are not going to be swayed by the popular vote. Most of the more than 100 undecided superdelegates who discussed their decision-making with The Associated Press in the past two weeks agreed that the primaries and caucuses do matter — whether it's … Continue reading Superdelegates acting super

Today, I caught a blurb in the Virginian Pilot about HR5719, which will, among other things, repeal the law which allowed it. According to the Pilot: These firms have taken in far less than they … Continue reading HR5719: Nixing IRS outsourcing

At this week's Shad Planking, Gilmore chose to attack Democratic candidate and also former governor Mark Warner [1, 2, 3, 4] while completely ignoring his primary opponent, Del. Biases
NY Times columnist Nicholas Kristof wrote an interesting op-ed which was reprinted in today's Virginian Pilot. Although aimed at the increasing divide between Democrats as this primary season drags on, the article points to a couple of different studies on human behavior, particularly as it relates to our ability to process information that is contrary … Continue reading Biases
