Why Rigell won

Scott Rigell won election to Congress with more than 53% of the vote in a three-way race. He became the Republican nominee after winning a six-way primary in June with less than 40% of the vote. Despite early objections to his campaign by members of both the Republican Party and the Tea Party, his win … Continue reading Why Rigell won

It’s not really a spectator sport

Politics, that is. The above is the title of my latest column, which appeared in Thursday's Virginian-Pilot.  For those who are not familiar, the stats I cited can be found on the State Board of Elections website. Exit poll interpretations are all over the web, but the data can be found here.

Why Nye lost

Sunday pre-election rally

A small but enthusiastic crowd gathered in Hampton Sunday afternoon for a rally. As previously mentioned, DNC chair Tim Kaine was supposed to be there but was called away by the President. Speaking at the rally was 3rd district Congressman Bobby Scott. Also speaking at the rally was 2nd district Congressman Glenn Nye

Rep. Bobby Scott

I interviewed Rep. Bobby Scott several weeks ago but have had some difficulty getting the video converted. Although not perfect, you can get the gist of our interview.

Kaine’s message to Hampton Roads

DNC chair, former VA Governor Tim Kaine, was scheduled to be in Hampton Roads Sunday for a rally with Congressmen Bobby Scott and Glenn Nye and supporters. He was unable to make it but recorded this video, which was shown at the event. Hopefully, I'll have time later today to get up some more info … Continue reading Kaine’s message to Hampton Roads

Monday morning quarterback 11/01/10

I didn't get a chance to watch much of the Redskins debacle yesterday. (Skins lost twice in two years to the Lions? Really?) From the reports, it seems that the big thing was the benching of Donovan McNabb. His replacement, Rex Grossman, promptly fumbled on his first play. Um, really, Kyle Shanahan? Look, I'm no … Continue reading Monday morning quarterback 11/01/10
