Rick – I’m a must read :)

Fellow blogger Rick Sincere has issued a challenge of sorts to the blogsphere in this post. He's going to be doing a presentation on blogs and wants us to link to him if we want to be described as a "must read" blog in his presentation. OK, I'm game 🙂

Latest poll: Allen 49%, Webb 47%

The Washington Post has the story. The Rasmussen poll also is being released. It shows Allen leading Webb 47% to 44%. I'll have more on that poll once I get the crosstabs.

While waiting for my car to be inspected

I looked at my windshield yesterday and noticed that my inspection sticker was expired. Oops! So I tried to get it inspected but everywhere I went (OK, so I only went to 2 places) couldn't take me. I was advised at the corner gas station to get in line early so I headed out about … Continue reading While waiting for my car to be inspected

Warner: No to ’08

Yesterday's announcement that former governor Mark Warner was ending his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008 caught me, like many others, by surprise. Until a few days ago, I thought Warner was positioning himself for the #2 spot on the ticket. Honestly, I didn't see how he was going to get past Hillary, … Continue reading Warner: No to ’08

Who paid for that poll?

Yesterday afternoon, I was polled via a live person. The caller was from New Jersey. After answering the 27 questions, the caller said thank you. I then asked who paid for the poll. The caller said she didn't know. The only thing she knew was that she worked for a company called "RSR" and she … Continue reading Who paid for that poll?

On the Record is hosted by Joel Rubin and airs Sunday at 10:30am on WVEC.

Kiwanis Harbor Party

I went to the Kiwanis Harbor Party for a bit Thursday night. Compared to last year, it felt like there were fewer people there but then it could have been that there were so many races last year that the place was overrun with campaign workers. 😆 At least this year, I didn't see the … Continue reading Kiwanis Harbor Party

The latest Majority Watch poll has been released and it shows incumbent Republican Congresswoman Thelma Drake with a 2% lead over Democratic challenger Phil Kellam, with 6% undecided. The poll was conducted October 8-10 and included 982 likely voters with a margin of error of +/-3.1%. Kaine & Moran statements on Warner decision

I was away from my computer when this story broke. My head is still spinning so I'll post my thoughts later. Governor Tim Kaine had this to say: I can understand and appreciate the difficult and intensely personal decision of my good friend Mark Warner. Over the 25 years I’ve known Mark, beginning as law … Continue reading Kaine & Moran statements on Warner decision

SurveyUSA: Webb v Allen debate

Given the opportunity to watch Monday night's debate between incumbent Republican Senator George Allen and Democratic challenger Jim Webb, 69% of those surveyed chose to watch something else. Another 1% weren't sure. How can you not be sure if you watched something? About the only thing that could make me feel more disappointed in the … Continue reading SurveyUSA: Webb v Allen debate
