I spent the day yesterday at the 3rd Annual Yvonne B. Miller Golf Tournament. No, I don't play golf, but a lot of people do. Senator Miller has the same aversion to fundraising as I do, but recognizes that she must be prepared for a challenge in 2007. The day started out with perfect weather … Continue reading Miller’s golf tournament

Dean on the black vote
Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean spoke to the DNC's African American Leadership summit and said that no longer could the party sit back and wait until 3 weeks before the election to ask minorities for their vote. "In many ways, the Democratic Party hasn't moved itself out of the '60s and '70s," Dean said... … Continue reading Dean on the black vote
VB GOP v Kellam
As has been widely reported, including this article, the Virginia Beach Republican Party plans to ask the Federal Elections Commission to investigate the relationship between Democrat Phil Kellam and MoveOn. The proof is flimsy at best. The offending email is addressed to "Dear MoveOn member." And, as Bearing Drift reports, anyone can sign somebody up … Continue reading VB GOP v Kellam

But, we've been having sewer work done in my neighborhood for the last six months. This morning, as I left for my walk, several of the contractors were … Continue reading Vote NO: talk about Ballot #1

S2006: 2.1 million calls
The caller ID says S2006. The caller? The Family Foundation. The group is making 2.1 million calls on issues such as gay marriage and abortion, apparently in an effort to turn out the conservative vote in November. If you haven't gotten the call, you probably will.
